Cancer killed my grandmother when I was only 9 years old and it has now affected my father. After seeing my father suffer thru cancer, i saw it at close quarters..I will be completely honest and say that I didn’t go to salon with the sole intention of donating my hair. I was anyway going for a haircut and my sister found out that hair can be donated for cancer patients. This only strengthened my determination to cut my hair. I remember sitting in the hospital and imagining a weak and bald father – that image haunts me even today. I decided to cut my hair short so that the hair can be used for a wig.   I dislike this silent killer and hope that medical sciences soon find a definitive cure. We, as a family have been donating money to cancer organizations for many years now. This is the first time we are donating something which is not directly tangible. We hope it can make a difference.
